Arbitrator, Mediator, and Conciliator Careers

Arbitrators, mediators and conciliators offer alternatives to resolving problems in court. They work to improve communication and strengthen relationships between two disputing parties. An arbitrator ultimately decides resolutions to conflicts with rulings that are binding. Some of them are lawyers, but others are people who have studied conflict management and dispute resolution. Some get trained by mediation centers or are businesspeople with experience in a field particular to a given dispute.
