Human Resource Management Degrees

If you’re interested in a high-level career in human resources, a degree in human resource management might be what you’re looking for. You’ll have several options from which to choose, from getting your feet wet with an assistance’s to becoming an expert in your field with a PhD. It is up to you to decide which degree is going to be the right choice for you. Human resource management degrees include:

  • Associate’s: This degree level will provide an introduction into human resource management, and prepare a graduate for entry-level careers in human resource department. During the degree program, students will learn management skills, interview techniques and a broad range of training in interpersonal and office relations. Graduates of the human resource management degree program will also have the option of continuing on to a bachelor’s degree program.
  • Bachelor’s: A bachelor’s degree program will typically provide a broad study of human resources in a business setting. Accounting, economics and ethics classes will supplement a human resource and management-focused course schedule. Students will be provided with a more in-depth study of interviewing and management skills, as well as recruiting, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Master’s: Students who earn a master’s degree in human resource management will do so after completing a bachelor’s program. They will be exposed to extensive training in human resource management as it relates to businesses. There will be a strong emphasis on leadership and management as students who complete this advanced degree program generally go on to hold high-level human resource positions.
  • PhD: Graduates who advance to this degree level will be equipped to enter the job field as a high-level human resource executive. The degree program will entail extensive study of human resource management theory, and provide the student with the option to pursue a career with a company or teach at the college level after graduation.
