Information Technology Degrees
Are you looking into a degree in information technology? Information technology offers a wide array of career opportunities in several work environments that feature computers. There are a number of degree levels for information technology, and several can be earned online in the comfort of your own home.
Information technology degrees include:
- Certificate – Earned in about a year, the certificate is perfect for those who aren’t sure exactly what they want to do, but want to ensure they have some background in technology. The certificate also provides the credentials for the student to enter entry-level positions in systems analysis, information architecture, web design, technical sales and marketing, and technical writing.
- Associate’s – The associate’s degree is earned in two years and trains the student for practical, real-world technology skills. The associate’s focuses on design of technological information systems as solutions to business and data needs. With the associate’s degree, a graduate would be ready for entry-level work in data entry, technical support, sales information technology or as a network administrator.
- Bachelor’s – Earned in four years, the bachelor’s continues where the associate’s leaves off and develops professionals who can manage technology and balance human resources skills at the same time. While learning technology skills like programming and managing computing and information technology, the student also learn skills in professional communication, project-managing techniques, and team-building.
