Education School: Teach Our Future Leaders

Do you like the idea of being an educator? Of sharing a subject you love with students who are (occasionally–let’s be realistic) eager to learn about it? If so, you should consider an education degree. Teachers of all grade levels greatly affect the lives and development of students. In an age where a huge amount of information is readily accessible, it’s important to have people to act as filters of that information. Teachers fill this role by providing information and insight that is valuable to a student’s development.

Teachers in most states need at least a bachelor’s degree to teach K-12th grade. Some states require a master’s as well, but usually allow time for teachers to pursue that degree while teaching. Education degrees will prepare you to teach a variety of subjects, instruct you how on to create lesson plans and provide training in child psychology.

Education degrees can provide access to many different career paths from teacher to administrator. Different career fields will require different levels and types of education, so be sure to research your dream job, and choose the degree that will best prepare you for it. A few career paths include:

  • Kindergarten Teacher
  • Guidance Counselor
  • Vice-Principal
  • Art Teacher

A career as a teacher can often lead to advancement within the field, including opportunities in administration or curriculum development.

Teachers are one of society’s most valuable resources, and while the job can be thankless at times, the good you do for a students can be very rewarding.
