Fashion Marketing and Merchandising Degrees
If you’re considering a degree in fashion marketing and merchandising, you have several options from which to choose. Research the careers that are in line with your interests, and find out which degree would be most helpful in achieving your goal. Degrees may be offered in fashion marketing, fashion merchandising or a combination of the two.
It is up to you to decide which degree is going to be the right choice for you. Fashion marketing and merchandising degrees include:
- Associate’s: This degree, which typically takes two years to complete, will prepare the graduate for an entry-level position in the fashion industry. Fashion marketer, sales representative or even supervisor positions are possible with a associate’s degree in fashion marketing and merchandising.
- Bachelor’s: A bachelor’s degree in fashion marketing and merchandising can be pursued on it’s own, or as the continuation of an associate’s degree. The bachelor’s degree program will offer a more detailed study of the fashion industry. Courses in fashion, business, marketing and design can be a part of the fashion marketing and merchandising program. Graduates will be equipped to pursue a careers in brand creation, management and promotion, fashion marketing and advertising, and other related fields.
- Master’s: After completing a bachelor’s in fashion marketing and merchandising, graduates may opt into a master’s degree program. These programs will further the study of fashion marketing, and prepare students for high-level positions in the industry, or research and teaching positions at educational institutions.
