Medical Assisting Degrees

A degree in medical assisting introduces you to the healthcare field. This degree allows you to work with patients, doctors,  medical technologists and pathologists or in medical laboratories. With this training, you will be capable of offering both medical administrative services and clinical duties.

A medical assisting education usually includes instruction in basic anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; medical law and ethics; patient psychology and communications; medical office procedures; and clinical diagnostic, examination, testing, and treatment procedures

Diploma – A nine-to-twelve-month option, prepares for entry-level employment in a clinical and/or administrative medical setting. Includes courses on anatomy; physical examination preparation; recording medical histories and more.

Associate’s – A two-year associate’s degree in medical assisting can qualify individuals for national certification and licensing. The introduction to the field this associate’s degree allows is a good gauge for (and often leads to) further training. Associate’s degree-holders may become medical specialist assistants or go on to nursing or medical school.
